Numerology - Whole-name Number: Identity

The 'Name Number' or 'Whole-Name Number' describes how you can use 'all that you are' to fulfill whatever your Destiny Number indicates is your life-plan. This number indicates your identity, and your impression of 'self'.

Write out your full name, as shown on your birth certificate, including any and all middle-names. You may also like to write down any name/nickname/pen-name by which you are known now, just to compare the differences. Alternate names can 'expand' one's numerological profile, but can also introduce conflict due to loss of 'real' identity. It is worth analysing ALL complete names by which you are now known, or have ever been known.

Now refer to the following table:

Using this table, write down the appropriate number from the top of each column in which letters in your name appear, then add together all the numbers. The example uses our friend 'John James Smith' again:

1 + 6 + 8 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 9 + 2 + 8

= 56

The objective is to produce a number between 1 and 9, so in this example we haven't finished yet! Now take the individual digits of any number greater than 9 and add them together:

5 + 6 = 11

Eleven is a significant number, even though it is greater than nine. Certain numbers: 11, 22, and 33, are known as 'Master Numbers', but more about those later. Make a note that an intermediate result of the addition process produced 'eleven', then continue. Again, as the result is greater than 9, we must repeat this step in the process until we have just a single digit which is in the range from 1 to 9:

1 + 1 = 2

Therefore, the 'Name Number' for the name: 'John James Smith' is 2.

The Name Number of two for John James Smith indicates that he is frustrated and pulled in different directions, and also finds it difficult to choose. He is good with people, however, but still prefers to play a support role instead of being out in front.
