| Sunstone is a type of Feldspar which
usually shows brilliant reflections on its surfaces. It occurs in colours ranging
from grey and green, through yellow, brown and orange to pink, peach and red. It can be used to eliminate fearfulness, alleviate stress, and encourage independence and originality. Canadian Indians used Sunstone at the centre of medicine-wheels to connect with the golden healing light of the Sun. In Ancient Greece, Sunstone was thought to represent the Sun-God, and to counteract poison as well as increase strength. In India, it is believed to provide protection against negative forces from the spirit realm. Sunstone is said to emit a golden glow when its user is in contact with spirit guides. In healing, Sunstone is useful in the treatment of sore-throats, and ulcers. |
