| Nephrite is a form of Jade, consisting of Jade and Actinolite,
which occurs in colours ranging from green tones, black, cream/tan, through blue/grey to
pink. It possesses the following characteristics in addition to those of Jade and Actinolite. In China, Nephrite was believed to be a sacred mineral, and was used to construct sacred items and tools, blessing all it touched. Nephrite has been used as a protective talisman by tribes in New Zealand to ward-off attack and illness. In healing, Nephrite can be used to treat colic, to stimulate the adrenal gland, and to enhance white blood cell production. |
