| This crystal appears green in natural
light, and red-violet in artificial light, and its colour characteristics change when
viewed in different directions. Alexandrite is a Chrysoberyl. Chrysoberyls possess the characteristics of enhancing personal power and spirituality, and the use of intellect. Labelled the 'Stone of Immortality', it supports the pursuit of excellence, helping to achieve the best in situations. Forgiveness, generosity and charitability are supported, promoting a feeling of 'peace', and permitting opposing views to be accommodated. The additional characteristics of Alexandrite include the understanding of what needs to be understood to facilitate ones spiritual development, and the effortless way to achieve the higher realisation of it. The regenerative powers of Alexandrite are particularly strong, facilitating building self-esteem, expression, and creativity, which enhancing the feelings of joy in the natural world. When used with together with other stones, such as in a 'medicine bag', the characteristics of the other stones are enhanced too. Alexandrite is a powerful stone for use in healing, with spleen, liver, pancreas and kidneys featured, with the ability to remove or diminish infection too.
